House Points
September 2022 we launched a new house point system across school. Our house system will allow children from across the school to work collaboratively and in teams, whilst earning points for their house through work; exhibiting school values and participation of inter-house competitions. Our inter-house competitions will be held at the end of every half-term, and will include a variety of events and competitions.
We have four houses: Yellow, Red, Blue and Green. Each of the children and staff (excluding Mrs Marshall and Mr Cassim) have been assigned to one of the houses. Where there are several children from one family, all children are in the same house. Each week house points will be totalled and the winning house’s ribbon will be attached to the house cup during our Good news assembly on a Friday.
The children voted for the names of the houses and were given a shortlist of four, which had been whittled down from the thirty plus entries.
The winning house names are:
- Red – Ruby
- Yellow – Amber
- Green – Emerald
- Blue – Sapphire
The accompanying sentence, which led to these names being a part of the shortlist was ‘everyone in our school is valuable and so are gemstones, which is such a wonderful message and links beautifully to so many of our school values.
